Hi, I am Caitlin, and I am currently running a fundraising campaign for a family who reached out to me in the Gaza Strip.
“Hello everyone, my name is Aisha and I communicate with you with a heavy heart. As a student on a first-level class, my dreams were shattered by the horrors of war. My school, once a beacon of hope, is now in ruins from bombings.
My story begins in a moment of tragic transformation when I was displaced from my house which was a violent shock to me. My home, which was considered a warm haven for me, was completely destroyed, and I found myself forced to flee to the hospital in an attempt to survive, but I was surrounded… The siege in the hospital lasted for two full weeks without food or water, as the days were like a constant nightmare. During that period, we witnessed death up close. Fighter planes destroyed everything around us, and we remained trapped, waiting in fear for the moment of salvation. Our sense of despair and frustration was indescribable, but thanks to God, we miraculously survived. Life here is very cruel, and we have few resources to meet our basic needs. Now, I live in a small tent, with the clothes I wear. Simple livelihoods such as food and drink are not available. Diseases have spread a lot here and it has become very difficult. Everything is expensive. My mother is sick with a bloody liver cyst and needs surgery to remove it.
This is my family story. The war has ruined my life and turned me from happy to homeless refugees. We need support to provide food, drink and clothing, in addition to proper nutrition today we are in urgent need of help so that we can continue to meet daily challenges and survive. Every support and help can save our lives and give us hope for a better tomorrow. I invite you all to show our solidarity in this ordeal.
